Bluefin Fitness Tour SP Exercise Bike Review

Cycling is a great way to get in shape, but sometimes you might want to do it indoors instead of outdoors.

The Bluefin Fitness Tour SP Exercise Bike is a great way to enjoy everything cycling has to offer from the comfort of your home.

I was very impressed with what I discovered about this fitness bike and I have no doubt that you will be also.

Things to Consider Before Buying a Fitness Bike

Before diving into how great the Bluefin Fitness Tour SP Exercise Bike is, let’s make sure we’re on the same page with what makes a fitness bike great.

The three areas you should look at when choosing one are quality/build, the console, and extras.

Here is a quick breakdown of each criteria.

Quality/Build

It’s not enough to just say you want something durable.

All manufacturers will tell you they’re products are durable. Just because it says it on the box doesn’t make it true.

The first thing you need to identify is if it’s made from quality materials. High-quality materials are going to have some weight to them.

For starters, on a quality bike, the flywheel should weigh at least 35 pounds by itself.

That means on a bike that only weighs 60 pounds, you’re only going to have 25 pounds of cheap, thin metal supporting you as you exercise.

Be honest – does that sound safe to you?

I wouldn’t recommend a bike that is less than 75 pounds and that’s cutting it close.

You don’t have to worry about the weight of the bike with the Bluefin Fitness Tour SP – it weighs 119 pounds (53.9 kg) and has a flywheel that weighs 55 pounds (24.9 kg).

The Console

Consoles are important since they hold all of the stats of your workout.

Most fitness bikes don’t have highly technical consoles.

However, the best bikes will have consoles that are Bluetooth capable so they can connect to an exercise app.

You should make sure the console has a media holder so it can hold a tablet while you exercise.

With upright fitness bikes such as the Bluefin Fitness Tour SP Exercise Bike, it’s okay if the console is small.

You’ll be hunched forward anyway, so it won’t be hard to read the information.

This is especially true if the console has a back light.

Extras

The extras are what gives the bike personality! They aren’t necessary but they provide you with a better experience.

Examples are water bottles, towel holders, or extra handlebars.

Adjustable seats are an extra that I would compromise on.

Most bikes have adjustable seats, but you might run across a few that don’t.

If the seats aren’t adjustable, you can’t customize the position that’s most comfortable for you.

If multiple people will be using the bike, that makes adjustability even more important.

Now that you know what features to look at, we can get into the main purpose of this article – the Bluefin Fitness Tour SP Exercise Bike.

It’s a great bike that is perfect for just about anyone who wants a home fitness bike.

Here’s why.

Features and Benefits of the Bluefin Fitness Tour SP Exercise Bike

Quality and Build

Bluefin Fitness Tour SP Exercise Bike 5

Having a commercial grade fitness bike at home gives you peace of mind because you’ll know you’ve invested your money well.

A lot of manufacturers claim that their machines are commercial-grade, but you can trust that the Bluefin Fitness Tour SP Exercise Bike really is.

It’s made with a high-grade of steel and all the bars used to construct the bike are thick and solid.

This is a frame that isn’t going to warp easily.

One point about the frame that I would like to see Bluefin Fitness upgrade is the weight that it supports.

The bike only supports users up to 220 pounds (100 kg) so it’s not suitable for larger people.

However this isn’t surprising – most upright bikes don’t support heavy people.

Other than this one shortcoming, the fitness bike is constructed well.

You’ll get more than your money’s worth out of the bike because it’s built to last

Console and Technology

Bluefin Fitness Tour SP Exercise Bike 2

One of the first things I noticed about the Bluefin Fitness Bike is the console.

It’s bigger and sits closer to the rider than the consoles on similar fitness bikes.

It’s nice to not have to strain to read your workout stats.

The LCD display is backlit and the console keeps up with time, distance, calories burned, and your pulse (must have separate heart rate monitor).

The bike doesn’t have preset programs, but the console does integrate with a fitness app called Kinomap.

The bike can connect to smart devices through Bluetooth, including a smart television.

The Kinomap app allows you to explore different global areas as you ride, giving you the experience of riding outdoors.

Seat, Handlebars, and Pedals

Bluefin Fitness Tour SP Exercise Bike 6

Upon first glance, you can tell this fitness bike was designed for a sporty feel.

The streamlined design, cushioned arm supports, and caged foot pedals all make you feel like you’re in a bike race.

This is one of the best bikes I’ve seen for speed pedaling.

The level of adjustability of the fitness bike is very impressive. The seat is a 4-way adjusting seat.

A lot of bikes have this feature, but what sets the Bluefin Fitness Tour SP Exercise Bike apart from others is that it also has 4-way adjusting handlebars.

This means you can get the most perfect positioning with this bike.

It’s a great feature to have when multiple people of varying sizes and heights will be using the bike.

What Others are Saying About the Bluefin Fitness Tour SP Exercise Bike

Review #1 – Heather Ewing

A Good Exercise Bike As Far As I Know

This is a good exercise bike, my friend let me use her one which made me buy one.

Comes with a few training options and also you can download an app to keep track of your fitness goals, the water bottle holder on it is handy, once set up.

And in use the bike doesn’t move it’s very sturdy.

I love the fact you can adjust the seat to 7 levels and the handle bars to 6 levels… makes it more comfortable and versatile for any user, plus it’s super easy to change level.

Easy to Assemble

I have read some comments about issues in assembling this bike, and I was concerned before ordering it.

But my own experience today is actually quite different. The bike arrived in one box and it took me just 20 minutes to assemble.

Very easy and clear instructions. Just few steps to complete. It looks great and very stable. Haven’t tried it yet, but so far very pleased.

Good Purchase – No Complaints

Very impressed. No real complaints. No way to test accuracy of distance cycle but it seems reasonable.

Seat not that comfy but getting used to it! ?

The Xterra Fitness MB550 Indoor Cycle is almost an exact comparison to the Bluefin Fitness Tour SP Exercise Bike. They are similar in build, features, as well as price.

It still provides you with the information you need, but it doesn’t have a back light and isn’t much bigger than a stopwatch.
